Who am I?
Thanks for taking the time to read this even though, if you’re like me, your attention span is that of less than a goldfish.
My name is Perry Grone. I am a filmmaker and storyteller, and making an attempt at becoming a comedian. As of Right now I’m trying to figure out if that means I am just an annoying guy or legitimately funny. We’ll see.
For the past few years I have travelled the world meeting different cultures and sharing their stories. From South Sudanese refugees to indigenous peoples in Costa Rica, I’ve seen a fair share of different perspectives. And, holy shit, it’s changed my life.
I grew up in a small(ish) farming town in Oregon, where there wasn’t much to do except maybe drink beer on the weekends or…well…drink beer on the weekends. Eventually, I picked up a camera and hit the road to film stories. I found myself in all sorts of new experiences. Some life altering and eye-opening, while others made me wish I was back home in a comfy bed instead of lying in a hammock in freezing cold temperatures in God knows where. But all-in-all, the traveling has absolutely changed my perspective.
A common denominator between all of us, through any culture, is laughter. Everyone wants to f*cking laugh. And, if you don’t like laughing, you are either a sociopath or one of Ted Bundy’s relatives, or both. Now, I’m working on comedy. Stand up, improv, a podcast, and character videos. Hopefully I get to the point where I’m able to make serial killer sociopaths like yourself or Ted Bundy laugh from time to time.
Let’s see how this goes.
